Food

In addition to the properties that all items have, food and drinks can also be **consumed**.

The game defines the useable energy in food in joules / calories. A conversion of 1 kcal to 4.184 kJ is used. The useable water is defined in mL.

Trivia

• In the early builds, the interface displayed energy in joules, but playtesting showed that many players were not familiar with joules. It was suggested that calories be used.
• Later playtests showed, that many players were not familiar with calories. It has been changed to the proportion of energy required per person per day, which is about 2400 kcal or 10000 kJ for light to medium activity jobs.
